The Re-opening of the Nursery

The Re-opening of the Nursery took place on Friday 6th June 2008

 


Oliver Heald, our MP, came along and cut the ribbon for us, helped by one of our Little Stars children and a pupil from the Nursery. All our parents then spent time looking around the lovely new area and enjoying a cup of coffee and a cake!

Breakfast Club 'Easter' Themed Day

Thursday 13th March 2008

All the children had a great time eating pancakes, hot cross buns,and boiled eggs. They all had the chance to try their hand at some Easter Craft activities

 

 

Breakfast Club 'American' Themed Day Thursday 8th November 2007

25 children came along to our themed'America' Breakfast Club.


We had waffles, pancakes , bagels and maple syprup. There were plates of fruit to enjoy as well. All the children had a great time. Afterwards everyone had the chance to colour in an American Flag!

On Friday 15th February we all went outside for the opening of our new cycle and scooter storage area. The School Council cut the ribbon to offically open the area.

It was great to see so many bikes and scooters there!

 

 

 

Speed Stacking County Finals

On Thursday 28th February four boys from Millfield were chosen to represent North East

Herts in the Speed Stacking County Final. They had a great time competing against other schools from Hertfordshire and came second overall!

 


Friday May 16th 2008-Re-Launch of the School Library

 

Mrs Bunce and Mr Hall

have designed this fantastic Jungle Mural for our new-look Library!

The children in Sewing Club made some jungle animals too!

The Reading Rockets have a display in the Library as well.

 

 

 

Key Stage 2 collect Buckets of Silver for water projects in Developing Countries- Friday May 16th 2008

The children in Key Stage 2 collected money from all the children in the school. They used the money to create a money picture of a person pumping water from a well. The children have been learning about how precious water is and how diffficult it is for many people to have access to clean water.

The money they have raised will be used to fund projects to bring water to these areas.
They raised the fantastic total of

£151.55- Well done!

 

 

 


Inter-School Sports were held at Great Hormead School and were a great success. All the children had a great day and took part in a range of events.

 

 

The Buntingford Carnival took place on Saturday 21st June 2008. Our school had the theme of 'Carnival of the Animals'.

Everyone who came along had a great time!

 

 

 

Our Harvest  Service was held on Friday 5th October 2007.

KS2 have been learning about Fair Trade including a visit to the Co-op store in the town. The children made cakes with Fair Trade products and sold them to help raise money for Oxfam. We also took a collection at the end of our service. We raised the fantastic sum of £150!

As a 'marble in the jar treat' 3/4 Tm chose to have a 'Pyjama party' & DVD.

 


Tag Rugby

All the year 4's took part in a Tag Rugby festival at Edwinstree Middle School.
They had a great time playing against other schools!
