Teacher - Key Stage 2

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and highly skilled teacher to join our popular and successful school within Key Stage 2.

The school was inspected in Feb 09 and was given an ‘outstanding’ grading.

We are looking for someone who will:

Teacher/Key Stage Leader - Key Stage 2

Deputy Pre-School Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking Deputy Manager for our Pre-School. Our ‘Little Stars’ Pre-School has experienced, friendly and hardworking staff, well-behaved happy children and a well resourced building. ‘Little Stars’ was inspected in January 2015 and received an ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted.

Millfield First & Nursery School is a popular and successful school and was inspected by Ofsted and judged ‘Outstanding’ (Feb 09). In addition to being a practitioner in our ‘Little Stars’ Pre-School, the successful applicant will support our Manager in the day-to day running of our Pre-School. The post would suit someone with energy, commitment and a clear understanding of Early Years Foundation Stage. The successful applicant will have an NVQ3 (minimum) qualification or NNEB in Early Years education. The post is available for an immediate start for a fixed term of a year in the first instance, with a view to become permanent.

Information about this Childcare Provider

Little Stars Pre-School is part of Millfield First & Nursery School providing high-quality childcare. The Pre-School is located in our purpose-built Nursery. There are excellent indoor and outdoor learning environments. Breakfast Club and Fun Club take place in the main part of the school. The staff are experienced and have all undertaken training in Early Years Education. Our Pre-School is an integral part of the school and the management of the Pre-School is the responsibility of the Governing Body and the Headteacher.

Duties and Responsibilities

Little Stars runs each weekday from 9:00am - 3:15pm, term time only and also manages Breakfast Club which runs each weekday from 8:00am – 8:45am and Fun Club which runs each week day from 3:15pm - 5.15pm (until 4:15pm on Friday). The Deputy Manager will assist the Manager in the day-to-day management of all aspects of our Pre-School. The Deputy Manager will also work in Little Stars on a daily basis as a Key Worker. The Deputy Manager will work alongside the Manager to ensure the smooth running of Little Stars, working with staff planning activities and assessing progress. The Deputy Manager will report to the Manager and the Headteacher. The Deputy Manager will be responsible for the administration of finances for Breakfast Club and Fun Club. Our Holiday Club is managed by Little Stars and runs for various days during the school holidays and the Deputy Manager will be expected to work on some of these days.

Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 2

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant (approx. 17 hours per week) to work largely in a Key Stage 2 class. This post is a fixed term contract initially for one year with the likelihood to become permanent.

They will be a friendly and efficient person. They must have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. The post will be available from Monday 12th November 2018.

Millfield was judged an ‘outstanding school’ in Feb 09. We offer excellent facilities, a professional and friendly staff and happy well behaved pupils.
