Eco Action Team

The Eco Action Team is made up of two Key Stage 1 pupils and six Key Stage 2 pupils.  Mrs Cranko leads the Eco Action Team and we also have a governor,  Mrs Judd, as a member of the team.

We have regular meetings where we talk about our ideas for things that we would like to do. We then tell the rest of the school in assembly or back in our classrooms. We have two notice boards, one in the library area and one outside, by the school gate.

We try to make Millfield School as eco–friendly as we can by reusing and recycling as much as possible.  We are pleased to be supporting the charity ‘UK Air Ambulance Services’ by continuing to collect used postage stamps. Please send in your donations with your child of hand in at the School Office.  We have also taken part in recycling clothes, mobile phones, jewellery, yellow pages, ink cartridges and batteries.

We have a lot of other eco–friendly activities, such as litter picking, composting, turning off lights and taps and reading gas and electricity meters. Occasionally we hold a sale of recycled and eco-friendly goods such as pens, pencils, rubbers and notebooks.
