Father's Day

All our Dads had great fun when they visited our new Nursery to play with the children and celebrate father's Day.

Easter Time - 2008

The PTA organised an Easter egg hunt. The children had great fun hunting and swapping paper eggs for real ones!
In the Foundation Stage the children made Easter nests by mixing melted chocolate with crispies.

Sports Day - 27th June 2007
Many of our parents joined us for our annual Sports Day. We all had great fun!

Key Stage 1 - Years 1 and 2

Christmas Party and Dinner ~ December 2008

The children all worked really hard writing and creating our class plays for the Christmas performances. We had a party to celebrate.

Global Village Week ~ October 2008

We all learned a lot about how people celebrate birthdays in other countries: Holland, Brazil and China.

Walton-on-the-Naze- September 2007
We all had a great time on our trip to the seaside.

'Florence Nightingale Day' ~ September 2008

The children in Key Stage 1 dressed up as Victorian children and spent the day learning about life in Scutari Hospital.




Key Stage 1 Activities 2007-2008

'Grannies and Grandads Afternoon Tea' ~ Friday 8th February

We invited our Grandparents to tea so that they could talk to us about how toys have changed. We had a wonderful time learning about the toys they used to play with when they were young.





Visit from 'History Off the Page'- Toys from the Past
On Monday 14th January all of Key Stage 1 had a wonderful time finding out about toys from the past. They learnt how to make some of them too!



Key Stage 2 - Years 3 and 4

Sportshall Athletics Festival
Year 3 travelled to Royston Leisure Centre to take part in lots of fun athletics activities!

 We went to West Stow as part of our topic Into the Past. We learned a lot about how Anglo Saxons used to live.



Autumn Term 2008


On Thursday 18th September our Yr 3/4 pupils had a battle dressed as either Celts or Romans. It was a great way to learn about the way they fought and what they wore.

Duxford March 2008
We had a fantastic trip to Duxford. All of Key Stage 2 dressed up as evacuees.


We looked around the museum and had a wartime classroom experience.

This  half term KS2 have been writing some fire poetry. Mrs Truett made a fire to stimulate KS2's imagination and to develop poetic vocabulary.


WW2 Research

KS2 have been learning about what it would have been like to live during World War Two.
They looked at some WW2 artefacts and discussed what they could have been used for.


Autumn Term 2007

On Friday 16th November KS2 organised a Book Museum Afternoon for Parents and Grandparents to come along to. The children had been bringing in old books from home and wrting about them. The exhibition was a great success with lots of visitors viewing the exhibits, chatting to the children and enjoying a cup of tea!




KS2 Visit to Christ Church in Buntingford

On Thursday November 8th all the KS2 pupils went to have a look around Christ Church. They had the chance to talk to the minister and hear the organ being played. They saw all the special features such as the font, pews and lectern.



Year 4 Drama Workshop

All the Year 4 pupils took part in a Drama Workshop organised by East Herts Council. The theme was healthy eating,'5 A Day'. The children performed their plays for parents and the rest of the school in a special assembly.



French lessons

In Key Stage 2 we have weekly French lessons. Here are some photos of children learning the colours.


African Drumming Day- September 2007

The Iroko Theatre group visited our school to lead a day of drumming, storytelling and dancing.

After a whole school assembly KS2 worked in groups learning these skills for themselves.

A great day was had by all!



Summer Term 2007
Year 4 Leavers Cream Tea for Parents and staff.
Pupils enjoyed an afternoon of swimming before returning to school to serve their parents wih cream tea. A Parents V Pupils game of rounders followed!


Year 4 Leavers Assembly
18th July 2007

Our Leavers Assembly was held on Wednesday 18th July 2007 and was a great success. All our Year 4 pupils contributed to an entertainment of dance, jokes, gymnastics, magic and song prepared by the KS2 teachers. Many of our parents came along and saw their children presented with dictionaries from the Chair of Governors at the end of the Assembly.

We wish all our Year 4 pupils every success as they move on to Middle School!
