Our kitchen is run by Hertfordshire Catering and offer well balanced nutritious meals. Each day a selection of freshly prepared hot and cold meals are coo in the school kitchen. We offer flexibility about which day your child has a school meal.
The price of a school dinner for pupils in Key Stage Two is £2.60 per day. Dinner money can be paid weekly or half-termly. Please ensure that it is sent in a well-sealed envelope with your child’s name and class clearly marked. Cheques should be made payable to 'Herts Catering Ltd'.
Universal Infant School Meals
Children in Reception and Key Stage 1 are entitled to a school meal funded directly from central government. You obviously still have the choice to send your child to school with a packed lunch if this is your preferred option.
Free School Meals
Free School Meals (FSM) and Universal Infant School Meals (UISM) are not the same thing. The number of children in school who receive FSM affects the amount of Pupil Premium funding paid to school whereas UISM money is paid purely to cover the cost of meals taken by children on a given day. If you think you may qualify for FSM and have not recently completed a form please contact the school office. Further information is available on the HertsDirect website http://www.hertsdirect.org/services/edlearn/canhelp/ or, alternatively, contact the School Office in confidence.

At Millfield we promote healthy living, with this in mind we ask for your support in encouraging your child to eat healthily and in supplying them with a ‘healthy’ packed lunch. Sweets, chocolates or fizzy drinks are not permitted, though a chocolate biscuit such as a kit-kat is acceptable.
We are a 'Nut Free' school so please ensure that the lunch does not contain any nut products and that all content/nutrition labels on packaged items are checked thoroughly to ensure the items do not contain any nut products, e.g. snack bars.
