Ofsted Good School

In November 2023, Millfield was graded as 'Good' following an Ofsted inspection. 

Communication Friendly Setting

Millfield was awarded with as a Communication Friendly Setting accreditation in May 2023. Millfield is committed to training all staff with communication and language development skills to meet the needs of all our children.

Early Years Quality Standards

Millfield gained  the Bronze EYQS accreditation in July 2019 and the Silver EYQS accreditation in January 2020. Since then the Early Years team have gained the Gold Early Years Quality Standards in July 2020 for recognition of the high quality teaching & learning and classroom environments across the Early Years.

Modeshift Sustainable Travel Award

Millfield received the Bronze accreditation in 2021 for our efforts to increase levels of walking, cycling and other forms of sustainable transport on the journey to school.

International School Award

The International School Award was awarded to the Millfield School in 2019. Millfield first received the International School Award 2012. The school has been reaccredited for the recognition of our commitment to international work through the curriculum and links with schools in other countries.

Barclays Girls’ Football in School

Millfield is proud to be part of the Barclays Girls' Football in Schools partnership, which supports equal access to football for girls. Through this programme, girls take part in high-quality football lessons within the PE curriculum, ensuring they develop skills, confidence and a love of the game during school time. This reflects our commitment to promoting equality, participation and opportunity for every child.

School Games bronze Award

Millfield gained this accreditation in recognition of our promotion of sport with other local schools and our teaching of PE.

National Online Safety Certified School

At Millfield, we are proud to be a certified National Online Safety school. Our school curriculum very much supports the teaching and learning of online safety. Information regarding online safety is also shared with parents and carers at home.

Buntingford and Rib Valley Schools

Millfield is a First School within Buntingford and Rib Valley Schools. We are proud to be part of a three tier school system,  providing education for children from 3 to 9 years of age. At 9 years old, children transfer to either Edwinstree Middle School in Buntingford or Ralph Sadleir Middle School in Puckeridge and then onto Freman College in Buntingford at 13 years old.

University of Cambridge Partner School

On occasion Cambridge University allocate students to work at our School.  We offer training to these students.   The University greatly values the support we offer their post-graduate students.

School Sports Partnership

We are a member of the School Sports Partnership taking part in joint activities with other local schools.

Our School was nominated for this award due to the success of our expansion and the opportunities that we have since provided for our children.
