School Animals

Keeping animals at school helps children’s social emotional learning, as well as teaches them how to consider and care for another being.

“Talking about animals uniquely provides students an ideal forum to practice the skills they will need in the 21st century, such as listening, perspective-taking and critical thinking; skills business leaders claim are missing in the workforce.” (Forsyth, 2012)

We feel very fortunate to have had animals join our staff team - they are well looked after, cared for and loved by all. They bring so much joy to the staff and children they work with.

Welcome to Millfield's Animals!

"Something that has worked well for my child this year has been taking care of the guinea pigs."
