14.05.21: Walk to School Week

Dear Parents/Carers,

Walk to School Week - 17th to 21st May 2021

We are excited to be taking part in Walk to School Week next week.

We all know the health benefits of walking so please help us this week to reduce congestion by supporting children in being more active and help reduce lower carbon emissions during this Walk to School Week.

We would like to encourage all our pupils to try and walk, cycle or scoot to school during this week. If it’s not possible to walk all the way, then it would be great if you could park 10 minutes away from school and walk or scoot the last part of your journey. If your child travels to school by bike or scooter, please ensure the bike/scooter is taken home as we are still unable to store these on the school site due to COVID-19 restrictions.

19.01.21: Piece of the Jigsaw

We are excited to share a school community project that we would love your child to take part in.  The document below provides an outline of an individual jigsaw puzzle piece.  At Millfield we frequently discuss the importance of individuals working together as a team.  As COVID-19 has kept many of us apart this activity aims to visually join us back together like a jigsaw puzzle.

Please see further instructions in the document below and we look forward to receiving your child's completed 'puzzle piece' as well as sharing the finished project.
The above letter shares important information for the reporting of COVID-19 cases during the Christmas brake.

12.11.20

Dear Parents/Carers

Next week Millfield will be taking part in Anti Bullying week. The children will have an assembly and discuss what bullying is. To recognise that everyone is different and differences are a positive thing, we would like to invite all children to wear odd socks on Wednesday 18th November.

Kind regards.

07.10.20

Dear Parents/Carers

On Wednesday 14th October we will be holding a Harvest Festival Assembly in our classes and we would welcome and appreciate donations for the Buntingford Food Bank.  The Food Bank provides emergency food for local families in crisis.  They are very grateful for any donations; however, they are most in need of the following (in-date) items:

•       Tinned vegetables

•       Tinned meat

•       Tinned fruit

•       Tinned fish

•       Pasta

•       Pasta sauces

•       Rice

•       Breakfast cereal

•       Long life milk

•       Biscuits

•       Tea

•       Coffee

Please bring donations into school on Wednesday 14th October, 2020. We will collect the donations in each class and an adult will transfer them into the hall to ensure we are Covid safe.

We look forward to celebrating Harvest Festival with the children and are very thankful for any donations you can kindly offer.

Kind regards

PSHE Faculty
