Children are taught music each week. This includes using hand held instruments and singing. Children are encouraged to experiment with pitch and tempo. Our topics are used for inspiration in our music teaching. Year 3 children play the recorder and Year 4 children learn to play the ukulele taught by a peripatetic teacher.

In addition, opportunities for children to perform with their peers is provided over the school year e.g. Autumn, Spring and Summer performances. This gives children the opportunity to dress up, sing, act and dance.

Our children leave us with a firm musical platform to continue their interest in the creative arts at middle school.
