Millfield SEND Support Plans (MSSPs).

External professional advice & guidance

The Education, Health and Care Plan is a statutory document agreed by the local authority after the child has been assessed by external professionals as well as the school. This process is done in partnership between parents & pupil, school and the local authority.

Long-term targets and provision are bespoke. Often the EHCP will come with additional funding to support the school to implement the provision.

The funding categories can range from targeted +, specialist or specialist + depending on the complexity of the child’s needs. The funding decision is made by the local authority.

Annual reviews are held with parents and chaired by the SENDCo to discuss the progress towards the EHCP targets. However, school will liaise at least termly on the progress towards smaller stepped targets on the Millfield SEND Support Plans (MSSPs). These targets will be related to the external professional advice and EHCP long-term targets.
