This week in our Topical Assembly, we focused on one of our school values, Respect, and explored what it truly means in our everyday lives.

Together, the children shared some fantastic ideas about how we can show respect to ourselves, to each other, to our learning and to the world around us. We discussed how respect helps us to build positive friendships, create a safe and happy school community, care for our environment and take pride in who we are.

Using the children's ideas, we are now creating our very own Millfield Respect Charter. This charter has been written by our school community, for our school community, and will help us all to understand what respect looks, sounds and feels like across our school.

Respect is important because it helps everyone feel valued, included and safe. Whether it is listening carefully to others, looking after our classrooms and outdoor spaces, celebrating our differences or showing kindness through our words and actions, respect is something we can all demonstrate every day.

We are incredibly excited to share our completed Respect Charter with you soon and look forward to working together as a school community to bring it to life. We know our children will be brilliant ambassadors for respect both in school and beyond!
