As we come to the end of another busy half term, we are delighted to share some highlights of the start of our Spring Term.

Our International Mornings brought the world into our classrooms with hands on activities to support the children’s learning. Our KS2 Sport Stars led an exciting array of sporting activities, promoting teamwork, as well as providing an opportunity for children to compete competitively.

The Year 1 children demonstrated all of our school values in their engaging assemblies on the Gunpowder Plot and our Year 4 children thoroughly enjoyed the delightful French café experience. Millfield children have immersed themselves in the enriching activities that span history, language, and culture.

We have celebrated many events, such as Children’s Mental Health Week and Safer Internet Day. Millfield children and staff have thoroughly enjoyed joining in with all of these events.

Thank you for your support throughout this half term. We wish you a restful break!

    Award Assemblies:

It was lovely to celebrate our half termly awards in celebration assembly today. Children spoke confidently about how they show respect and appreciation for each other.

Safer Internet Day: A KS1 and KS2 assembly was held for the children by the Maths and Computing Faculty focusing on the topic ‘Together for a better internet’. This opportunity has linked well to our online safety workshops which will be led by an external provider, The 2 Johns, who will be visiting Millfield in the Summer term.

Freman College Music Performance: We welcomed Freman College Big Band into Millfield to perform to KS1 and KS2 children. The children thoroughly enjoyed the performance with many children clapping to the beat and singing along. Thank you to Freman College students and staff for providing this opportunity for children at Millfield.

KS1 and KS2 PTA Discos: A huge thank you to Millfield PTA and staff for organising and running the recent Discos for children. Both events have been thoroughly enjoyed by children, who showed off some fabulous dance moves!
