  • '50 Things To Do Before You Are 5'

    Fri 22 Oct 2021

    Dear Nursery and Reception Parents/Carers,

We are delighted to share a fantastic free app/website that has been created to support your child's communication and language learning and development.

'50 Things To Do Before You Are 5' provides 50 activities that you can do in Hertfordshire which all directly link to children's early learning and development.

For each activity, the app/website highlights information including what to do, where the activity is, questions to ask your child while completing the activity and how it links to your child's development.

A range of activities are provided for both full days out and small activities for days at home.

Please find attached a parent guide to the app including how to download the app and how to use the app. Please also find attached information regarding the 50 Things To Do Before You Are 5 Project.

For further information about this amazing free resource please follow the link to the website:

If you choose to complete any of these wonderful activities, we would love to see them shared with us via Tapestry!

    Kind regards,

    Mrs Everington

    EYFS Leader

  • Message from Mrs Kennedy-Weeks:

    Fri 22 Oct 2021

It has been lovely to walk around the school this morning and see the children take part in a ‘Protective Behaviours Friendship Ladders’ activity. The children were very articulate in sharing their network hands showing a fantastic understanding of who can help them in their community.

Have a lovely half term break; we look forward to seeing all the children return on 1st November 2021.

  • Smarties:

    Fri 22 Oct 2021

Millfield PTA are sending a tube of smarties home today with each child.  The PTA have requested that you keep the tube, get your child to do tasks/good deeds in return for 20ps, collect these in the tube and return to the school after the half term break.  Please see the information emailed out earlier today for further details.

All money raised will benefit the school.  The PTA is currently raising funds to replace the timber trail, which all the children love.

  • Christmas Cards:

    Fri 22 Oct 2021

The children have been extremely busy this week in school creating their own personalised Christmas Card designs. You will be able to purchase these shortly if you wish to. The cards will be sold in packs of 12 and will help to raise funds for Millfield. We will send further details in due course.

  • Water bottles:

    Fri 22 Oct 2021

Please ensure your child comes into school every day with an appropriate labelled water bottle.

  • Hair:

    Fri 22 Oct 2021

Following our school policy, any child that has shoulder length or longer hair must have their hair tied back for school. Hairbands must be plain black or navy blue and not too large. This is for a range of reasons, including supporting the prevention of head lice.
