Bookings for the Holiday Club will open towards the beginning of the second Summer half term.
We will initially be offering the Holiday Club to current Millfield children and their older siblings, up to the age of 11 years old. After providing Millfield families with an early booking period, this provision will also be offered to the wider community of Buntingford.
The Cabin Team at Millfield are currently busy planning a wide range of exciting opportunities to take place during these weeks. Please look out for more information in due course.

Welcome back to the start of the second Summer half term!
Eunice Woods’ play area: We are excited to open up the ‘Eunice Woods’ play area on the first day back! Millfield children and staff will enjoy an open event during the afternoon. As previously shared, this play area was made possible due to the very kind donation made by Eunice Woods, who was a Millfield Governor for many years. To recognise Eunice’s amazing generosity, Millfield Governors and staff will further celebrate the opening of this area later in the Summer term.
A weekly rota will be used for the Eunice Woods’ Play Area to ensure all children have an opportunity to have fun with their friends using the play equipment. |

Class photos: All children will have their class photo taken today. Please ensure children are wearing their full school uniform.
Children in Reception and Year 2 will still have PE on this day; please ensure your child is wearing their school uniform to school and that they bring their PE kit in a named bag.

We have had an action packed last week of this half term! From Year 3 children enjoying a dance workshop and tour of Buntingford to children in the Early Years meeting and finding out about a range of animals, including a noisy donkey and chatting chicks!
The half term came to end with our Half Term Award Assemblies for Millfield children. These are wonderful opportunities where positive learning behaviours are celebrated. Children are naturally so reflective; during our assemblies, it was a delight to listen to children sharing their learning and explaining why they are feeling proud of themselves.
Have a lovely half term break, we look forward to children returning to Millfield on Monday 5th June 2023.

In assembly today, we focussed on our Positive Learning Behaviours. Our Positive Learning Behaviours are an extension from one of our School Values: PROUD. At Millfield, we are proud of our learning and support children to develop these traits.
Please see the school website for more information on our Positive Learning Behaviours:

The Year 4 children had the opportunity to attend Hautbois Activity Centre this week. The Year 4 children, as well as staff, have been full of exciting stories today! Staff who attended the school trip have shared how proud they are of every Year 4 child. They took part in so many activities with many experiencing them for the first time. Thank you to all Millfield staff who made this trip possible.
A huge thank you to the PTA and school staff for their efforts in organising and supporting the KS1 PTA Movie Night. We look forward to offering KS2 children the same opportunity on 19th May 2023.
Millfield Coronation Celebrations were a real success despite downpours of rain! Millfield Hall was transformed into Westminster Abbey where we crowned our very own King and Queen of Millfield.
Millfield children and staff looked fantastic wearing their crowns and waving flags and we even managed to have our planned playground party between the showers. There were fun and games that could be heard across the whole school.
During our assembly today we focussed on King Charles’ life. At the end of the assembly, each child was gifted a special Coronation Medal from Millfield School as a keepsake. Last week, Millfield School Council worked together to create a card and write a letter to King Charles to mark this occasion; within the card we included a Millfield Coronation Medal for him to also keep as a keepsake.
Buntingford Town Council kindly gifted a commemorative badge to every child at Millfield to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles. The Buntingford Mayor visited us at Millfield on Wednesday to deliver these lovely gifts. The badges were presented to children, along with Millfield’s keepsake during our afternoon assembly.
Staff at Millfield wish you all a very enjoyable Bank Holiday weekend with your family and friends.
