• Bike or Scoot to School Week:

  Please see the letter sent out. Please use all 3 designated bike/scooter racks on the school site, including the bike rack by the entrance gate to the playground. Fencing has been put in place to provide extra places for bikes and scooters this week – they have been positioned by the bike rack at the field exit of school site.

  Monday	Harvest topic assemblies for Millfield children
  Tuesday	Individual and Sibling Photos:   Please ensure your child is wearing the correct school uniform, including wearing or bringing in their school cardigan or jumper.  Year 1 and Year 2 children have PE on Tuesdays: For today only, Year 1 and Year 2 children need to wear school uniform to school. Please ensure your child brings their PE kit (in a named bag) with them so they can change into their kit for their PE lesson. Children will then go home in their PE kits with their school uniform in their named bag.

• Celebrating Harvest:

  Following the letter sent out, on Monday 4^th October Buntingford Food Bank will be visiting Millfield to talk to children in assemblies about the importance of the food bank and how it supports our community. We kindly thank you for any suitable donations that you can donate to the food bank. 

• Prospective parents/carers of children starting Nursery and Reception within the next academic year.

  Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, there are limitations in the provision of Millfield tours. However, we are able to offer tours outside of the school day for prospective parents/carers of children starting Nursery and Reception within the next academic year.

• Messages from the Year 3 Teaching Team:

  Fri 10 Sep 2021

  Year 3 children will be learning to play the recorder in their music lessons. The school will loan each child a recorder, which they will keep in their drawer at school. These recorders will remain in school. Therefore, if your child wishes to practise at home, you may like to purchase a recorder for your child.

   

  Year 3 children will become scientists next week where they will carry out an investigation. In order to complete this investigation, we required boxes e.g. shoe boxes or slightly larger are ideal with no gaps as the investigation involves light and dark. Please bring a box into school by Wednesday 15^th September 2021. Please do not worry if you do not have a suitable box as children can work in partners and/or small groups.

  It has been lovely to see so many happy children at Millfield this week. There has been many highlights over the week from seeing children learning in their classes, playing together outside and using communal areas again in groups.
