  • Message from Mrs Kennedy-Weeks:

    Fri 25 Feb 2022

We’ve had a very eventful first week back at school.

After the strong winds and subsequent damage to the school site, we are pleased to share that work was completed to rectify these areas and has ensured safety for the school community.

After a Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) Headteacher briefing this morning regarding ‘Living with COVID-19’, I can confirm that currently the DfE advice that was shared via email yesterday is supported by HCC:

Adults and children who test positive will continue to be advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for at least 5 full days, and then continue to follow the guidance until they have received 2 negative test results on consecutive days.’

Therefore, please continue to share COVID-19 information with the school office via telephone (01763 271717) or email (admin@millfield.herts.sch.uk).

COVID-19 case numbers at Millfield are currently low and as a result, we are pleased to share that we are able to start transitioning from our Outbreak Plan. This process will take place over the coming 2 weeks and will include a range of changes for staff and children e.g. returning to assemblies in the hall, eating lunch in the hall and Key Stage break times. If there is any significant change to COVID-19 case numbers at Millfield, this information will be shared promptly.

  • Message from Mrs Kennedy-Weeks:

    Fri 11 Feb 2022

It’s been another busy half term at Millfield!  We have celebrated many events, such as Children’s Mental Health Week, NSPCC Number Day and Safer Internet Day, as well as many year group specific enrichment days e.g. Roman Day and Kings and Queens Day.  Millfield children and staff have thoroughly enjoyed joining in with all of these events.

We were delighted to support the NSPCC by taking part in their Number Day to raise funds, which will help change the lives of children. Thank you for your kind donations to this charity; we are thrilled to share that our school community raised a fantastic £335.

We celebrated Safer Internet Day this week, where the theme was ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’. We talked about how and where we use the internet and how to use it safely. We also looked at understanding consent in the digital world. We are proud to now be a National Online Safety (NOS) School; you will have received a letter today explaining all about NOS and how you can benefit at home from our membership.

Please complete the wrap around care survey that was sent out earlier this week to help us meet the needs of Millfield families: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/EKMillfield.

Have a lovely half term break with family and friends.
