A huge well done to all the children and staff for taking part in this event today. The children walked, ran, skipped and jogged 8 times around our field to complete their mile today.
Over 1780+ schools - with more than half a million children - took part in England Does The Daily Mile today!
Next week children will be awarded with a mini certificate to remind them of their wonderful achievement.
Reading is a high priority at Millfield School and we encourage children to read frequently at school and at home. This term, we have been lucky enough to purchase new and exciting reading books for each colour band, which gives the children a greater choice of what they read.
We are grateful for your support with reading at home. We look forward to lending the books out to your child and we hope you enjoy reading them at home.
We have an exciting new feature in our Yurt! The Reading Shed will be open every playtime and lunchtime for the children to enjoy.
We would like to say a huge thank you from all the children and staff at Millfield to Peter Ball for making and donating three lovely bird boxes today. Mr Ridge has already found them new homes within our woodland area.
Extra-Curricular Clubs start straight after school and finish in time for children to be collected at 4:20pm. Please wait outside the school grounds by the normal entrance pedestrian gate and your child will be brought to you for collection at 4:20pm.
Thank you for continuing to arrive and collect children at your designated times. This supports everyone to continue to remain safe. As Millfield is positioned in a residential area, in the mornings, please arrive at a suitable time and not too early; the first staggered arrival time is 8:45am.
When using the one-way system on the school grounds, for safety, please ensure that you and your child remain on the one-way path avoiding the grass bank and wall.
As the KS2 topic this half term is all about the local area of Buntingford, Year 3 and 4 children will be going on a walk in classes around the town to visit various places and historical buildings – for Year 3 and 4 parents/carers, please see the email sent out relating to this.
Our Extra-Curricular Clubs start this week and not w/c 26th April as previously shared on the Summer Term Events & School Website. Please ensure that your child is collected promptly from any of our Clubs that are held after school. Extra-Curricular Clubs start straight after school and finish in time for children to be collected at 4:20pm.
