It was fantastic to celebrate the end of a busy half term today with Friendship Ladders this morning and our Award Assembly this afternoon. We are very proud of Millfield children for their motivation and engagement in learning this half term. Over the last few weeks, children have enjoyed a range of cross-curricular learning; from sports festivals and historical workshops to visitors in school, children have had a range of opportunities to apply their learning. It was great to see so many parents/carers during consultations this week. It was lovely to share how children have settled into a new school year and have already started to make progress.
Your child has brought home a tube of Smarties from the PTA this afternoon. This is for the PTA Smarties Challenge; please see the email sent out for further information.
A huge thanks to the PTA for their commitment in supporting Millfield children.
We would like to thank all those that supported the two Movie Nights this month. We raised £645, which will go towards supporting the school.
After the half term break, School Council members will take responsibility for selling Remembrance Day poppies for a small donation. If you wish to donate, please send your child in with a small donation e.g. 50p.
Millfield Governors are looking for a new parent governor to join our successful governing body. If you are interested, please see the letter recently sent out via email. Parent Governors are an important component in achieving an effective and well-balanced governing body. If you interested in joining our governing body, please complete and return a nomination form to the School Office via email (admin@millfield.herts.sch.uk) by 10:00am on Tuesday 1st November 2022.

It was lovely seeing all the children and staff at Millfield wearing yellow. Our KS1 and KS2 children had an assembly that focused on young people’s mental health and how we can look after our own mental health, as well as our physical health. In classes, the children have been challenged to complete 3 tasks:
Thank you to a Year 2 parent for kindly organising and donating a book for every child in KS1. We hope children enjoy reading these at home.
