  • Hello Yellow Day

    Fri 08 Oct 2021

On Friday 8th October 2021, all at Millfield took part in ‘Hello Yellow Day’. This celebrated World Mental Health Day. We joined thousands of schools, offices and communities to raise awareness of the work of ‘Young Minds’.

Young Minds support young people to know that they are not alone with their mental health. Please see the Young Minds website for more information: https://www.youngminds.org.uk/support-us/fundraising/helloyellow/?acceptcookies=

To support ‘Hello Yellow’ we invited children, as well as staff to come to school wearing something yellow.

In their classes, on this day, the children took part in bite size mental health and wellbeing activities which promoted ‘Young Minds’.

We enjoyed seeing a sea of yellow, which brightened up everyone’s day!

  • Message from Mrs Kennedy-Weeks:

    Fri 01 Oct 2021

We are so excited to share Millfield’s fantastic video with the school community. Millfield children enjoyed a viewing of the video in assemblies this week. The reaction of the children was an absolute delight to see. Like staff, they were so proud of seeing their school in action. Children shared:

    • ‘I think all of England will like to come to Millfield now.’
    • ‘It’s great that everyone can see the education at Millfield.’
    • ‘We all look kind and friendly.’
    • ‘It shows how much fun we have at Millfield with our learning.’
    • ‘Tilly and the guinea pigs were my favourite.’

Please take a look, enjoy and feel free to share this link with family and friends: https://www.millfield.herts.sch.uk/school-video/

  • Bringing items to school:

    Fri 01 Oct 2021

As previously shared, the only items that children are required to bring to school is an appropriate bottle of water, a home packed lunch (if not having a school meal), a snack (if required and in KS2), a coat and their school reading pack.

As a result, a rucksack is not necessary and we recommend a book bag for your child to use. This is to ensure our cloakrooms are kept uncluttered as many are an entrance/exit route into or within classrooms. This also supports children to only bring essential items into school. Thank you for supporting us with this.
