  • Message from Mrs Kennedy-Weeks

    Fri 08 Mar 2024

World Book Day: The children very much enjoyed taking part in World Book Day by dressing in their comfy pyjamas and bringing a favourite bedtime story into school to share with their class. Children recommended books to each other; these included Stuck by Oliver Jeffers, Cat Kid Comic Book by Dav Pilkey and Honey’s Hive by Mo O’Hara.

The Art workshops led by Mr Richardson during World Book Day provided the children with the opportunity to illustrate famous Roald Dahl book characters. Children showcased their artistic talents, which we are developing into a central display that we can all enjoy!

  • Message from Mrs Kennedy-Weeks

    Fri 16 Feb 2024

As we come to the end of another busy half term, we are delighted to share some highlights of the start of our Spring Term.

Our International Mornings brought the world into our classrooms with hands on activities to support the children’s learning. Our KS2 Sport Stars led an exciting array of sporting activities, promoting teamwork, as well as providing an opportunity for children to compete competitively.

The Year 1 children demonstrated all of our school values in their engaging assemblies on the Gunpowder Plot and our Year 4 children thoroughly enjoyed the delightful French café experience. Millfield children have immersed themselves in the enriching activities that span history, language, and culture.

We have celebrated many events, such as Children’s Mental Health Week and Safer Internet Day. Millfield children and staff have thoroughly enjoyed joining in with all of these events.

Thank you for your support throughout this half term. We wish you a restful break!

    Award Assemblies:

It was lovely to celebrate our half termly awards in celebration assembly today. Children spoke confidently about how they show respect and appreciation for each other.
