As previously shared, our hall floor was recently damaged due to flooding. Children and staff have shown resilience in adapting to new routines as we haven’t had full use of the hall. This will continue over the coming weeks. On Monday, the hall floor will be removed ready for the next stage of restoration.
It’s been fabulous having HCL visit us in school over the past 6 weeks where they created wonderful recipes with our Year 3 children. The children had the opportunity to taste and explore new ingredients whilst also learning through cooking.
It was great to get out into the community this week and attend Layston Grove Care Home with a small group of Year 4 children, as well as Blue. The children and residents shared family photos and spoke about their families and loved ones. Thank you to Layston Grove for having us and well done to the children that attended for being great representatives of Millfield! This was also an opportunity for Blue to develop his therapy dog training skills – we were all very proud of him!
