  Monday	🏫9:15am 2026-27 Nursery (2- & 3-year-olds) & Reception Prospective Parent/Carer Tour: Here at Millfield, we look forward to welcoming prospective parents with children starting school in September 2026 for a tour to see our school in action.   📚Reading Assembly for KS1 & KS2 children led by the English Faculty
  Tuesday	🎅✨Search for Santa Pantomime by Shooting Stars for Seedling Nursery & Reception children at Millfield: Please see the email sent out for further information.
  Wednesday	🕯️Reception children will be visiting Christ Church in Buntingford to learn about Christingle.
  Thursday	👕🎁Non uniform Day: Millfield PTA invites all children to enjoy a non-uniform day in return for donations towards our Christmas Fair. Further details can be found in the email sent out.   ☕9:00am SEND Coffee Morning for parents/carers. Allocated parents/carers have been sent an email invite, please see this for further information.
  Friday	🏫Occasional Day: Millfield is closed for children and staff.

  Whole school attendance this week was 95.39%.

   

  Well done to Oak Class🌳who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 98.93%.

• ➖✖️➗➕Family Friday Maths

  It was fantastic to welcome so many parents and carers to our Family Friday Maths session this week! The session provided a wonderful opportunity to share the children’s learning and progress, as well as for families to enjoy time together in the classroom environment.

  

• ⚽Football Festival

  Year 2 children represented Millfield in a Football Festival at St Edmund’s College. Staff were very proud of their excellent learning behaviours and the fantastic effort shown on the pitch. One of our teams even came away with a well-deserved win, well done to everyone involved! 🏆

  

• 🔬Year 3 STEM Discovery Centre Trip

  The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Discovery Centre 🔍, watching an exciting show, and taking part in a hands-on ‘Make and Take’ workshop 🛠️. They were brilliant representatives of Millfield throughout the day. Well done, Year 3!

  

• 🎉PTA Dance Party:

  A big thank you to the PTA for arranging fantastic dance parties for both KS1 and KS2 children! 💃🕺 It was great to see the children enjoying the party with their friends and showing off their dance moves. We truly appreciate all the effort that went into making the events special!

• School Council visit Layston Grove!

  Our Millfield School Council children had a fantastic visit to Layston Grove today, enjoying a festive Christmas craft session with the residents. 🎄✨

  Monday	🍁 Maple Class Assembly for KS1 and KS2 Children 🎭✨ Maple Class will have opportunity to perform their class assembly to their peers; a wonderful chance to celebrate their learning and share their achievements.
  Tuesday	🏫 School Council Visit to Layston Grove🐾 The school council children will be attending Layston Grove Care Home along with our school dog, Blue 🐶. They will be creating Christmas crafts with the residents.

  Friday	🕣 8:45 – 9:00am Family Friday Maths Session ➗🧮 We look forward to welcoming parents and carers to our Family Friday session for you to learn alongside your child.   📖Edwinstree Readers: Edwinstree children, accompanied by staff, will read with our KS2 children. This initiative helps promote a love of reading and provides valuable opportunities for partnership and collaboration between the schools.   🎉 Celebration Assembly for Millfield children.
  🌟Attendance: Whole school attendance this week was 95.83%. Well done to Willow Class🌳who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 99%.

   

• 🚨 Emergencies drills

  As a school, we need to practise safety drills. We practise going outside for a fire drill, as well as moving to a safe space inside during a lockdown drill. Next week, we will hold class assemblies to remind children about these drills, as well as carry out a lockdown drill. Please see examples of some of the slides that we share with children.
