  • Happy Easter

    In our end of term assembly, we celebrated another exciting term filled with a range of events and special moments that enhanced learning for children.

     

    Thank you to Millfield PTA for organising the exciting Easter Egg Hunts for Millfield children this week.

     

    Have a lovely Easter break with family and friends. We look forward to seeing everyone when we return to school on Monday 13th April.

    Tuesday

    ⏰9:00–10:00am Mini Millfield: We are looking forward to welcoming families to our next Mini Millfield session for children aged birth to 4 years. Little ones can enjoy messy play, music, stories and a snack, all for just £2 per family. No booking required, just come along. We can’t wait to see you!

     

    🌟9:30am 2026-27 Nursery (2- & 3-year-olds) & Reception Prospective Parent/Carer Tour: Still deciding on a place for your Nursery or Reception child for September 2026, come and visit us for a tour to see Millfield in action.

     

    🚦 🚸 Transport for Hertfordshire KS2 sessions: Transport for Hertfordshire will be carrying out Walking & Cycling Safety Lessons with Year 3 & Year 4 children. Please see the email for further information.

     

    Transport for Hertfordshire is also asking for feedback on the revised plans for Buntingford town centre. Feedback from the earlier proposals, gathered in 2024, has been incorporated into the updated designs.

    ⚽ Year 3 & 4 Girls’ Football Event at Millfield: We are excited to share that our Year 3 and Year 4 girls will be taking part in a special football event held at Millfield, alongside other local schools. This fantastic sporting opportunity is being led by the Sports Partnership, who work hard to promote active, inclusive and engaging experiences for young people.

    Whole school attendance this week was 94.67%. Well done 👏 to Ash Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 98.5% 🏆🎉.

  • Therapy Dog News!

    We are thrilled to share that, after two years of dedicated work with PAWS, Blue has officially qualified as an accredited therapy dog. This wonderful achievement reflects the hard work, commitment and care shown throughout the training journey. We are incredibly proud of this milestone. We look forward to sharing the work that Blue completes with children across the school.

    🐰 Meet the Easter Bunny, enjoy Goat Walking, and experience the joy of Lamb Bottle Feeding. With plenty of hands‑on activities and farmyard fun, it’s the perfect spring day out for all ages.

    Due to increases in food prices, Herts Catering Ltd have reviewed the price of a school meal to take effect from 1st April 2026. The cost of a meal for KS2 (Years 3 and 4) children will increase to £3.65 per day. Children in Reception and KS1 (Years 1 and 2) will continue to benefit from free meals under the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.

  • Nurse Visit to Year 2:

    It was lovely to be visited by Nurse Hill, who is a Children’s Nurse. She shared with the class what her job involves and explained the training and qualifications needed for her role. The children asked many thoughtful questions, one of them being, ‘How many patients do you see each day?’ Nurse Hill also showed the class some of the equipment she frequently uses, which the children found fascinating.

  • Nursery Stay and Play Sessions:

    We had such a wonderful time welcoming parents and carers into Nursery this week for our Stay and Play sessions. The children were so proud to share their favourite learning and play areas, and it was great to see families exploring together. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

  • Nursery Walk Around Buntingford:

    Nursery children thoroughly enjoyed their Spring Walk around Buntingford. They were keen to explore nature, spot blooming flowers, listen to birds sing and enjoy the fresh air. It was a wonderful adventure full of curiosity and joy! Well done Nursery for being great representatives of Millfield. 

  • Reception Easter Stay & Play

    Thank you to all our Reception parents and carers who joined us for our Easter Stay and Play today! 🐣🌸

     

    It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the activities together and sharing in the children’s learning. The children had a fantastic time getting creative with Easter crafts and showing their families around their classroom.
