As a school, we need to practise safety drills. We practise going outside for a fire drill, as well as moving to a safe space inside during a lockdown drill. Next week, we will hold class assemblies to remind children about these drills, as well as carry out a lockdown drill. Please see examples of some of the slides that we share with children.
As the weather has changed this week and we move into the colder months, please ensure your child comes to school in appropriate clothing, e.g. a winter coat, scarf, gloves and hat. Please also ensure all items are labelled so they can be returned if misplaced.
Today, a group of KS1 children took part in a Speed Stacking event led by the School Sports Partnership. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and represented the school brilliantly. ๐๐
It was wonderful to welcome prospective parents/carers into Millfield this week for a tour of the school. If you know of any local family or friends considering a school-based Nursery (2- and 3-year-olds) or have a Reception aged child for 2026-27, please direct them to https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/millfield-open-mornings-tickets-1416955414789 to book a place on a tour. There are two remaining tours before admissions close on 15th January 2026:
Year 1 children thoroughly enjoyed the Guy Fawkes workshop. They took part in a range of engaging activities, including games ๐ฒ and role-play ๐ญ, which helped bring the story to life. The factual events of the Gunpowder Plot were retold using puppets, a highlight that the children absolutely loved ๐.
A huge thank you to all our parents and carers for your wonderful generosity for Children in Need. Thanks to your kind donations, we have raised an amazing £236 so far!
Your support helps make a real difference, and we are so grateful for the kindness and community spirit shown once again.
Thank you for helping us support such an important cause. ๐๐
