  We’re really looking forward to welcoming staff, parents and members of the Buntingford community to our upcoming PTA Quiz Night! It promises to be a fantastic evening filled with fun, friendly competition and great community spirit.

• Millfield Book Fair 📚

  We’re thrilled to share that our recent Book Fair was a wonderful success for Millfield! This means that children will benefit from even more new and recommended books, which will be on display in our library and classrooms. A huge thank you to the English Faculty for organising the event and to all parents/carers and children who attended and purchased a book to enjoy.

  Monday	9:15am 2026-27 Nursery (2- & 3-year-olds) & Reception Prospective Parent/Carer Open Morning: Here at Millfield, we look forward to welcoming prospective parents with children starting school in September 2026 for a tour to see our school in action. Click here to book a place!   Ash Class Harvest Assembly – KS1 & KS2 Performance: Following their successful performance for parents and carers, Ash Class will present their Harvest Assembly once more – this time to an audience of KS1 and KS2 children. This provides a valuable opportunity for the children to share their hard work and talents with their peers. 3:20 – 3:40pm Book Fair: Please see the email for further information.   Friday	8:45 – 9:00am Family Friday Reading Session: We look forward to welcoming Reception to Year 4 parents and carers to our Family Friday Session for you to learn alongside your child. Celebration Assembly for Millfield children.   7:00pm PTA Quiz Night – Don’t Miss Out! Come along and join us for a fun-filled evening at the PTA Quiz Night! It's a great chance to test your knowledge and support our school community. Please check the information sent for details on how to book your place, we’d love to see you there!
  Attendance: Whole school attendance this week was 97.39%.  Well done to Ash Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 100%.

   

• Hello Yellow Day

  It was all yellow!!

  It was wonderful to see all the children and staff at Millfield wearing yellow. Children took part in class activities that focused on young people’s mental health and how we can look after our own mental health, as well as our physical health.

  

• Even More Harvest Celebrations!

  Year 4 had a special visit from Rev. Kirsty this week, who shared all about the meaning and importance of Harvest. The key message she left with the children was to have an attitude of gratitude — a wonderful reminder to appreciate what we have and to share with others.

  We are so proud of Ash Class for their fantastic Harvest Assembly performance! The children spoke clearly, shared interesting facts about Harvest celebrations from around the world and sang beautifully with real enthusiasm. Well done, Ash Class! It was lovely to welcome parents and carers to this event.

  

• The Great Fire of London activity in Year 2:

  Year 2 have been busy this week creating models of 17th Century houses. As part of their learning about the Great Fire of London, the children explored how the narrow streets and wooden buildings helped the fire spread quickly across the city. Next week, with support from Mr Ridge, the children will carefully set their models alight to observe how easily the fire could travel from house to house!

  Attendance: Whole school attendance this week was 95.53%.  Well done to Willow Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 99%.

   

• Reception Library Visits – Parent Helpers Needed

  Our Reception children are looking forward to their upcoming visits to Buntingford Library:

  • Cherry Class – Tuesday 14th October at 10:00am
  • Apple Class – Tuesday 21st October at 10:00am

  If you are available to support as a parent helper for either of these visits, please email your child’s class teacher. Unfortunately, without enough adult support, we may not be able to go ahead with the visits. Your help would be greatly appreciated to make these lovely learning opportunities possible.
