• 🌟Returning to School:

  Children have return to school after the half term break with enthusiasm and focus. During a tour of the school on Tuesday, visitors were very impressed by Millfield children! Children shared their learning confidently, explained all about our school values and positive learning powers, as well as sharing the many opportunities they enjoy at Millfield, such as extra curriculum clubs and our House colours. It’s wonderful for members of our community to see our fantastic children and staff in action!

  Thursday	🏺Year 4 Egyptian Workshop: Year 4 children are getting ready to step back in time for an exciting Egyptian workshop led by Those History People. They’ll experience history come to life through hands-on activities and storytelling. Please see the email for further details.
  Friday	🎉Celebration Assembly for Millfield children.
  Attendance: Whole school attendance this week was 94.3%. Well done to Maple Class 🍁 who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 98.2%.

  We celebrated our half-termly Award Assemblies today 🎉. Well done to all Millfield children for your hard work, dedication and fantastic achievements this Autumn Term.

  

• 🎃Art Club:

  Over the last few weeks in Art Club, the children have created some fantastic clay pumpkins! Each one is so individual and the way they’ve been painted brings out their unique designs. Mrs Swift and Mrs Wasylyczyn were very impressed with the creativity, effort and attention detail shown in every piece. 🎃

  

• 🔥Great Fire of London Workshop

  It was wonderful to see our Year 2 children enjoying the Great Fire of London experience day this week. Such hands-on experiences are incredibly impactful in terms of supporting the learning and understanding of historical events. Weaving 🧶, candle making 🕯️, perfume making 🌸, leather stamping 🪶and writing using quills ✒️ were just some of the engaging activities completed by children. A big thank you to the Year 2 parents/carers who supported this event.

• 📖Reception Library Visits:

  We had a wonderful time taking our Reception children to Buntingford Library over the past two weeks! The children enjoyed exploring the library’s books and listening to a story read by the librarian, who also explained how to join the library. The children were full of curiosity and asked lots of questions about the library. A big thank you to all the parents who supported this visit, it was greatly appreciated!

   

  Looking for a fun, free activity to enjoy together this half term? Visit your local library and join My First Library Adventure! Explore hundreds of picture books, fact books and early reading stories to enjoy at home. Complete the Adventure for a chance to enter a special prize draw! Fifty lucky Reception pupils in Hertfordshire will win a personalised, signed book by author-illustrator Ged Adamson and two overall winners will enjoy an author visit with their whole class.
