Fri 13 Jun 2025Year 4 Residential:
We are incredibly proud of our Year 4 children, who had a fantastic experience at Hautbois Activity Centre. They represented our school brilliantly, especially by demonstrating our school value of Determined as they tackled a wide range of challenging activities. Well done, Year 4! I'm sure you will join me in thanking the Millfield members of staff who attended the residential and supported the Year 4 children this week.
Another big well done to the Year 4 children who remained at Millfield. They engaged enthusiastically in creative project activities and showed wonderful support for our younger pupils. They have been an absolute credit to the school, and we are very proud of the maturity and kindness they demonstrated. Thank you to Mrs Bunce and Mrs Brown for organising these wonderful opportunities.

PAWS Training for Blue
Tue 10 Jun 2025Blue officially began his therapy training with PAWS Therapy Dog Training in September 2024. He’s making great progress, working closely with both dog handlers and children. During today’s visit from PAWS, we concentrated on sustaining the 'Sit' and 'Down' commands, along with practicing 'Leave it'. Blue also was a superstar at picking up the command 'Through' which involved jumping through a hoop! Well done Blue!

Wednesday
10:00am DSPL3 Coffee Morning for parents/carers of children with SEND. On behalf of HCC we will be hosting a coffee morning at Millfield for parents/carers of children with SEND.
The aim of these relaxed meetings is to provide all parents and carers with support, information and networking opportunities, including:
- To provide a safe space where you can talk freely about your child/young person and your family, and the challenges you are facing
- To help signpost parents/carers to the correct services/information
- To enable parents/carers to meet other local parents and connect with like-minded people in their community that may be going through similar challenges
- To be a listening and understanding ear, without judgement
- To help parents/carers feel that they are being supported and are not alone
They aim to have the following professionals join the coffee morning: DSPL3 Area Manager, DSPL3 SEND Lead and representatives from their Outreach Team. There is a vast amount of knowledge amongst these professionals so please come along – there is no need to book, you can just turn up.

Reception Shepreth Wildlife Park School Trip: For Reception parents/carers, please see the email previously sent out for more information.
MP Visit: We are very lucky to be welcoming Chris Hinchliff, who is the Labour MP for North East Hertfordshire. There will be an opportunity to tour our school to meet and chat with children, staff and governors at Millfield.
8:45 – 9:00am Family Friday Session: We look forward to welcoming parents and carers to our Family Friday Session for you to learn alongside your child.
Edwinstree readers will be visiting Millfield weekly to read with a range of KS1 and KS2 children.
Attendance: Whole school attendance this week was 96.13%. Well done to Cherry Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 99.5%.

Fri 06 Jun 2025We are very proud of the Year 4 children this week as they tried their best and were determined to complete the Year 4 Multiplication check. Well done Year 4 children.
The children looked fantastic in their class photos this week. Due to the weather, we were able to have these taken outside. Please look out for further information in due course.

Thu 22 May 2025Year 1 Trip to Hatfield Forest
The year 1 children had a fantastic day at Hatfield Forest where they participated in activities, including a nature walk, creative workshop and nature mindfulness. The activities were thoroughly enjoyed by all the children who were very engaged and represent Millfield with our school values. Well done Year 1!

Class Photographs: All children will have their class photo taken today. Please ensure children are wearing their full school uniform.
Children in Year 2 and Year 4 will still have PE on this day; please ensure your child is wearing their school uniform to school and that they bring their PE kit in a named bag.

Thu 22 May 2025Coffee Morning Induction for Nursery Starters in September 2025
Thank you to our new Nursery parents/carers who joined us for our first coffee morning induction session. It was lovely for Millfield staff to have the opportunity to chat and get to know our new parents/carers. We look forward to offering further induction events during the Summer Term.

World Cultural Diversity Day will be celebrated at Millfield today. Children will take part in an assembly all about how ‘We are all different’.

9:00am Coffee Morning Induction for Nursery Starters for September 2025: We’re excited to welcome parents/carers to our Coffee Morning Induction Session as we get ready for the start of Nursery in September 2025. This is a great opportunity to meet some of the Millfield team and ask questions.

Attendance: Whole school attendance this week was 95.46%. Well done to Maple Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 98.62%.
