• Parent/Carer Consultations:

  This term we will be holding our Parent/Carer Consultations virtually with your child’s class teacher from Monday 7^thFebruary to Friday 11^th February 2022. Today our online booking system will open at 6:00pm to make your booking/s.

  Wednesday	Year 2 Music: Year 2 children will be making their own African Drums. Please could Year 2 children bring in cardboard tubes and/or tins by today (26.01.22) e.g. Pringles tube, baby formula tin, coffee container. These will be used as the main structure of their drums.

• Message from Mrs Kennedy-Weeks:

  As you are already aware, COVID-19 cases at Millfield have risen over the last week. We have safely deployed staff to ensure all year groups have remained open, which is our priority. We have been in frequent communication with Hertfordshire County Council to ensure the safety of our school community is maintained at this time. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and understanding. In addition, thank you to the Millfield staff team for their continued flexibility and commitment at this challenging time.

  Extra-curricular clubs commence this week. As it is the first week of clubs, please see below a reminder of the sessions - places for children to attend have already been pre-booked.
  Monday	Extra-Curricular Clubs: Years 3 & 4 – Games & Gymnastics Year 3 & 4 – Times Tables Rockstars (booking still available until 9am on 17.01.22 – see message below)
  Tuesday	Extra-Curricular Clubs: Year 1 & 2 – Multi Sports
  Wednesday	Extra-Curricular Clubs: Years 1 & 2 – Gymnastics & Circuits Years 3 & 4 – Sewing Club    Year 1: Children in Year 1 are reading 'The Queen's Hat' by Steve Antony.  Year 1 children are invited to bring in a hat from home. It should ideally be a summer hat e.g. a baseball cap or a straw hat rather than a woolly hat. If you do not have a hat at home, you do not need to buy one - we will have some spares. Please ensure any hats brought from home are labelled.

  You can now find the sessions request form on the school website to book a place for your child to attend Millfield’s Breakfast and/or After School Club for the month of February 2022.

• Year 3 and 4 Times Tables Rockstars Extra-Curricular Club:

  Due to availability, we have re-opened the booking system for the Times Tables Rockstars Extra-Curricular Club, which will take place on Mondays from Monday 17^th January 2022. This club is now also available for Year 3 children. If you have a Year 3 or Year 4 child, who would be interested in joining this club with Mr Hughes, please book via the School Gateway. The booking system is currently open and will close at 9:00am on Monday 17^th January 2022. Once you have made this payment, your child’s place on this club is secure and they can attend from Monday 17^th January 2022. As with all clubs, once the club is full, it will no longer show on the School Gateway system; this avoids the clubs being over-subscribed.

  Wednesday	Nursery PE Day: Nursery PE day has changed from Fridays to Wednesdays. From this week, Nursery children will need to wear their PE kit every Wednesday (rather than Friday).
