Whole school attendance this week was 94.06%. Well done π to Olive Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 99% ππ.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 4 children, who had a fantastic experience at Hautbois Activity Centre. They represented our school brilliantly, especially by demonstrating our school value of Determined as they tackled a wide range of challenging activities. Well done, Year 4! I'm sure you will join me in thanking the members of staff who attended the residential and supported the Year 4 children this week.
Another big well done to the Year 4 children who remained at Millfield. They engaged enthusiastically in creative project activities and showed wonderful support for our younger pupils. They have been an absolute credit to the school, and we are very proud of the maturity and kindness they demonstrated. Thank you to the members of staff who supported the children over the week.
The Reception children had a fantastic time visiting Shepreth Wildlife Park this week! We spent some time exploring the park, getting to see lots of animals, birds, reptiles and insects, and venturing into the bat cave which was one of the children's favourite parts of the day. The children had the opportunity to explore the ‘Isandbox’, an interactive sand pit that allowed the children to explore the seasons and a variety of animals, as well as building a 'log pile' house using logs and a variety of animals and insects. The children demonstrated Millfield school values excellently and made all staff and volunteers exceptionally proud of their resilience in the wet conditions!
We are absolutely delighted to share some wonderful news with you all!
Our school has proudly achieved both the Royal Horticultural Society School Gardening Awards Level 1 and Level 2, a fantastic accomplishment that reflects the enthusiasm, dedication, and teamwork within our Gardening Club. πΌ
This is an amazing achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved. As part of this success, we have also received books and a voucher from RHS, which will enable us to purchase seeds and resources to continue developing and enriching our gardening projects here at school.
A huge congratulations goes to Mrs Skinner and all members of the Gardening Club for their hard work, commitment and passion. Their efforts have made a real difference in creating a vibrant and thriving outdoor learning environment for our pupils.
We look forward to continuing our gardening journey and sharing more of our progress with you soon!
