This morning, KS2 members of the Eco Action Team planted five new apple trees at the far corner of the school field as part of the Veolia Orchard campaign, supported by four employees from Veolia. 🍏
The campaign, run in partnership with East and North Hertfordshire Councils, gives young people the chance to work with nature while improving local biodiversity. All the orchard trees planted across the UK come from the same mother tree, linking each one to a nationwide network. 🌱🇬🇧
Thank you to Veolia for providing this wonderful opportunity for our Eco Action Team and for the apple trees. 🌳

Our Year 4 children and staff enjoyed a brilliant visit to the Co‑Op in Buntingford as part of their Design & Technology project. The classes are learning how recipes can be adapted and the trip gave them a valuable chance to explore a wide range of biscuit products firsthand. During the visit, the children examined different types of biscuits, paying close attention to packaging, ingredients and design features. This real‑life investigation has already helped to inspire their ideas and support their planning back in school.
We would like to say a big thank you to the Co‑Op team for warmly welcoming Millfield’s Year 4 children and supporting their learning so enthusiastically.
What a fantastic day we’ve had! The children looked absolutely brilliant in their Red Nose Day outfits today, from wacky wigs and bright red noses to colourful costumes and creative accessories. There were so many funny looks and lots of laughter around school. It was wonderful to see everyone joining in with such enthusiasm.
A huge thank you to all our families for your generous donations so far. Your support helps make a real difference. If you would still like to donate, you can do so by following the link:

Thank you again for helping make Red Nose Day such a fun and memorable occasion!
