  • 🏛️Year 3 Roman Workshop

    Fri 16 Jan 2026

This week, Year 3 children enjoyed an exciting Ancient Rome workshop 🏛️ led by Those History People. Through role play and hands-on activities, such as leather making, metal work and mosaic tiles 🎭🔨, the children explored Roman life and traditions.

In the afternoon, children investigated artefacts 🏺 to learn how archaeology helps us understand the past. Dressed in Roman-style costumes 👗⚔️, the children were fully immersed in the experience, sparking curiosity, confidence and enthusiasm for history 📚✨.

A big thank you to Millfield staff and our parent helpers for helping to make this a memorable day 🙌.

  • 😁Promoting Healthy Smiles at Millfield 🦷

    Fri 16 Jan 2026

We were delighted to welcome Buntingford Dental Clinic into Millfield this week, who hosted special workshops for our Nursery and Reception children 🏫✨

These focused on the importance of good oral health, helping our youngest pupils learn how to look after their teeth through age-appropriate, engaging activities 🎨🪥 The children explored key messages such as brushing twice a day, making healthy food choices 🥕🍎 and understanding why caring for their teeth is important from an early age.

We are very grateful to Buntingford Dental Clinic for supporting our children’s health and wellbeing and for helping to encourage healthy habits for life 💙😊

  • 🦁🐸 Year 1 Science – Animal Classification 🐶🐟

    Wed 14 Jan 2026

Our Year 1 children have been busy learning how to classify animals!

Through hands-on activities, they sorted common animals such as pets, farm animals and wild animals into groups by observing simple features like:

    ✔️ Fur, feathers or scales
    ✔️ Legs or wings
✔️ Living on land or in water

The children also explored basic animal groups including mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians, talking about how animals are similar and how they are different.

By using sorting, observation and simple descriptions, the children are developing their understanding of the world around them in a fun and practical way. 🌍✨
