    This morning, Mrs Kennedy-Weeks and members of Millfield's Assembly Committee attended Buntingford's Remembrance Service to pay their respects. They represented our school beautifully, laying a wreath and taking a moment to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom. โค๏ธ

    National Anti-Bullying Week: The theme for Anti-Bullying Week 2025 is “Power for Good,” reminding us that everyone has the ability to make a positive difference. More details can be found at anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk. Throughout the week, children will take part in class activities that explore what it means to use our power for good.

    Monday

    ๐Ÿงฆ Odd Sock Day: Children, staff and families are invited to wear their most colourful and quirky mismatched socks to school! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š This helps us celebrate our differences and show support for a world where everyone is accepted just as they are ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ซ.

     

    There will be a special assembly to bring our whole school together to reflect on the importance of kindness ๐Ÿ’•, respect ๐Ÿ™Œ and standing up for others ๐Ÿ’ช.

    Tuesday

    ๐ŸŒธ Remembrance Day: As part of our Remembrance Day observance, children will take part in a moment of silence to show respect and gratitude for those who have served.


    Look out for our beautiful poppy displays that will be ‘popping up’ on our classroom doors or windows this week! ๐ŸŒธ

    Wednesday

    ๐Ÿƒ‍โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒ‍โ™€๏ธ Year 3 & 4 Cross Country Event at Edwinstree: Please see the email sent for further information. All children in Year 3 and Year 4 will need to wear their PE kit ๐Ÿ‘• and trainers ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ to school, so they are ready to enjoy the experience. They will also need to bring a named water bottle ๐Ÿ’ง and coat ๐Ÿงฅ.

    ๐Ÿ’› Children in Need Day:  We are inviting all children and staff to participate in a non-school uniform day. To make this day special, if possible, please wear spotty clothes and/or accessories. Whether it's polka dots, stripes or any kind of spotted attire, let your creativity shine! This is our opportunity to show our support for Children in Need in a colourful and playful way. Please do not feel you have to buy anything new.

    ๐ŸŒŸAttendance: Whole school attendance this week was 96.39%. Well done to Willow Class ๐ŸŒณwho were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 99.1%.

     

  • Message from The Cabin staff:

    Just a quick reminder that The Cabin’s Breakfast Club is open from 7:45am - 8.45am, Monday to Friday. The entrance gate closes promptly at 8:20am to enable all children to settle into Breakfast Club and eat their breakfast whilst having time to interact with their peers before getting ready to join their classes at 8.45am. Please try to arrive nice and early if your child would like to eat with us.

    Year 4 children thoroughly enjoyed stepping back in time for an exciting Egyptian workshop led by Those History People on Thursday. They experienced hands-on activities and storytelling which brought all their learning to life!

    Thank you to our School Council members, who have taken responsibility for selling Remembrance Day poppies this week. An additional thank you to Millfield children and families for their kind donations to such a wonderful charity. Poppies are being worn with pride at Millfield.

     

    Mrs Kennedy-Weeks will be joining members of the Assembly Committee where they will represent Millfield and lay a wreath during the Buntingford Remembrance Service on Sunday morning. This is an honour and a very special opportunity to pay our respects as a whole community.

    Children have return to school after the half term break with enthusiasm and focus. During a tour of the school on Tuesday, visitors were very impressed by Millfield children! Children shared their learning confidently, explained all about our school values and positive learning powers, as well as sharing the many opportunities they enjoy at Millfield, such as extra curriculum clubs and our House colours. It’s wonderful for members of our community to see our fantastic children and staff in action!

    Applications for Nursery Provision for 2 Year Olds and 3 Year Olds, Reception and Middle School places for September 2025: 

    If you have a child starting in Nursery, Reception or Year 5, please ensure you make an appropriate application.  

     

    ๐ŸŒบRemembrance Day poppies: School Council members will take responsibility selling Remembrance Day poppies this week for a small donation. If you wish to donate, please send your child in with a small donation e.g. 50p to £1.

     

    ๐Ÿ‘ŸYear 4 PE Kits: Year 4 children need to come to school in their PE kits today, as they will have PE lessons today instead of Thursday.

    Attendance: Whole school attendance this week was 94.3%. Well done to Maple Class ๐Ÿ who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 98.2%.
