  • Playground Christmas Carols to Parents and Carers

    It was a pleasure to see so many parents and carers join us for this festive event. It was a great experience for Key Stage 1 and 2 children to sing together dressed in Christmassy attire, surrounded by such a large and supportive audience. Your presence added to the festive cheer!

  • Christmas Tree Festival St Mary’s

    As shared, St Marys’ Church in Aspenden are holding their First Christmas Tree Festival on Saturday 14th December (10am - 4pm) and Sunday 15th December (11am – 4pm). Millfield is pleased to be displaying our own tree with the theme ‘All Things Millfield’. You will also get the chance to vote for your three favourite trees in the people's choice competition.

  • Reception Nativity

    It was wonderful for Millfield to be welcomed into St Peters Church this week for the Reception children to perform their Nativity shows to parents and carers. A huge congratulations to all the children, they performed with such enthusiasm and pride. We were so proud of every child, the children impressed us all with their wonderful singing and acting skills.

     

    KS1 and 2 children thoroughly enjoyed watching Reception children perform their Nativity to them on Thursday. It was wonderful to see how proud the older children were of their younger peers.

  • Friendship ladders Christmas Crafts

    The Friendship ladder Christmas craft activities were a big hit! It's clear the children had a fantastic time working with a range of children from across the school to explore and create Christmas decorations.

  • Nursery Christmas Stay and Plays

  • Milk Reminder

    If you have not already done so, please can you ensure if your child would like milk next term you complete the relevant section on Arbor by Monday 16th December. Please note this applies to both free and paid for milk.

  • Open Morning for Nursery (2- & 3-year-olds) and Reception Prospective Parents

    We have added an additional open morning to our calendar on Thursday 9th January 2025 at 9am. If you know of any local family or friends considering a school-based Nursery (2- and 3-year-olds) or have a Reception aged child for 2025-26, please direct them to contact our school office on 01763 271717 to book a place.

    Nursery Parents Christmas Stay and Play: Please see individual times communicated to Nursery parents by the Nursery Team.

    Tuesday

    10:00am Reception Nativity for Apple Class parents/carers at St Peter’s Church in Buntingford.

     

    2:00pm Reception Nativity for Cherry Class parents/carers at St Peter’s Church in Buntingford.

     

    Message from St Peter’s Church: Please leave pushchairs/prams outside in the Buggy Park due to space inside. Please remember, that due to the size of the church, there is a maximum of 2 parents/carers that can attend per child.  

    Wednesday

    3:15pm Christmas Raffle tickets will be sold on the playground. There are lots of fantastic prizes to be won from a Christmas Hamper to vouchers such as a 5-person farm pass. Tickets can also be purchased from the school office at any time.

    Christmas Craft Friendship Ladder activities for KS1 & KS2 children.

     

    2:45pm KS1 & 2 Playground Christmas Carols: As scheduled, KS1 & 2 parents and carers are invited to enjoy Christmas Carols which will be performed by KS1 & 2 children on the playground between the Year 4 and Year 3 Classrooms. Once the event has finished, children will return to their classrooms and will need to be collected as normal. We are looking forward to having an opportunity for a large proportion of our school community to gather together for this festive event.

     

    Christmas Jumper Non-school uniform day for children and staff. Please note, we are aware that the National Christmas Jumper Day is on Thursday, however, the children have decided that they would prefer to wear Christmassy clothes on the same day as Christmas Friendship Ladders and when we perform our Christmas Carols.

  • Reception events

    Reception children have been very adventurous this week. They have not only visited St Peter’s Church for a Nativity rehearsal, but also enjoyed a visit to Christ Church in Buntingford for a Christingle service. The children have represented Millfield very well, sharing our school values and being enthusiastic learners. Well done Reception children and staff!

  • Pantomimes

    Children and staff are very excited about the up-and-coming pantomimes on Monday 16th December:

    • Sleeping Beauty Pantomime at The Spotlight in Hoddesdon for Year 1 to Year 4 children.
    • Search for Santa Pantomime performance for Nursery and Reception children. This performance will take place in the school hall.
