It was fantastic to see our Year 2 children fully immersed in their Great Fire of London learning this week. As part of their discovery learning, the children designed and built their own houses from cardboard before safely observing how quickly a fire could spread between them, helping bring this important historical event to life.
The activity was both exciting and memorable, sparking curiosity, discussion and deeper understanding. Most importantly, the children had great fun while learning, and it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and engagement throughout the experience.
It was lovely to come together for our first KS1 & KS2 Award Assemblies of the year and celebrate the achievements of so many children. It was wonderful to hear the reasons why pupils had been recognised, showcasing their hard work, perseverance and positive attitudes to learning. πππ

A huge thank you to Usborne Books for delivering such engaging reading workshops for our classes at Millfield and for providing the after-school Book Fair sessions this week.

It was all yellow!
It was wonderful to see all the children and staff at Millfield wearing yellow. Children took part in class activities that focused on young people’s mental health and how we can look after our own mental health, as well as our physical health.
