Whole school attendance this week was 95.71%. Well done ๐ to Oak Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 100% ๐๐.
We wish all Millfield children and their families a lovely half term break next week. We look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday 23rd February.
A big thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our Nursery Stay and Plays this week. It was wonderful to welcome you into school and to see you enjoying special time alongside your child.
This week we marked Safer Internet Day, the UK’s largest national event dedicated to promoting online safety. Each year, the day highlights an important digital issue, and this year’s theme is ‘Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.’
Children in both KS1 and KS2 took part in a special assembly exploring how technology, particularly AI, can be used positively and responsibly. Throughout the week, computing lessons built on this learning, helping children to develop safe, thoughtful and responsible behaviours online. By encouraging smart choices and open conversations, we are supporting our children to become confident and informed digital citizens. ๐
We have enjoyed recognising and celebrating Children's Mental Health this week at Millfield. Children took part in assemblies and activities throughout the week to explore the importance of helping everyone feel safe, valued and that they truly belong. The children engaged positively in discussions and activities that encouraged kindness, understanding and support for one another, reinforcing Millfield’s commitment to a caring and inclusive school community.
The children received their copy of Me and My Family from the Young Artists Company!
Millfield have their own chapter in the book and some of the children's pictures of their families have been published!
We are so proud of them for taking part and we have a copy of the book for school so the children can always be proud of their achievement!
Great work Reception!
Year 1 are having a truly royal day celebrating Kings & Queens Day! The children arrived looking magnificent in their crowns, capes and sparkling outfits, ready for a day fit for royalty.
They are taking part in a range of exciting activities, including designing their own crowns, creating royal portraits and learning about famous kings and queens from the past. There is plenty of imaginative role play too, with the classroom transformed into a grand palace!
The children are showing fantastic creativity and enthusiasm, and it is wonderful to see their confidence shine as they embrace the theme. What a memorable day for our brilliant Year 1 royals! ๐โจ
We are looking to welcome new governors to support and shape the future of our school. If you’re interested in finding out more about the role and how you can make a difference, please join us at our upcoming prospective governor information session. We’d love to see you there!
๐ต๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ The Year 4 children have been busy this morning working hard as journalists as part of their English unit on newspaper reports. They’ve been investigating a mysterious event after a parachute was found caught in a tree on our school grounds!๐ณ๐ช
Our reporters have carried out eyewitness interviews with Mr Ridge and Mrs Skinner and have begun drafting their very own newspaper reports ๐ฐ.
