  • Christmas Design Artwork:

    Please note, ‘My Card Project’ orders for any cards and/or gifts with your child’s artwork on closes on Tuesday 29th October 2024. This is to enable you to receive the items in time for the Christmas period.

  • Nursery Stay and Play sessions:

    It was wonderful to welcome the children’s parents into school this week for the Nursery stay and play sessions. The children took great pride in their class and were keen to show parents their learning and play areas.

    Monday

    10:30 – 11:30 Nursery Stay & Play session for parents of children that attend morning sessions only: Please see communication sent out on Tapestry.

     

    2:00 – 3:00 Nursery Stay & Play session for parents of children that attend fulltime or afternoon only sessions: Please see communication sent out on Tapestry.

    Tuesday

    Postponement of NHS Flu Immunisations:  Rescheduled to Wednesday 27th November by Vaccination UK. Information will be sent out after the half term holiday.

     

    3:30 – 7:00pm Parent/Carer Consultations: Meetings will be held in the hall. Please arrive via the main school office. Children’s learning will be shared by the Class Teacher for you to view in the hall.

    Half Term Award Assemblies for children in school.

    Attendance: Whole school attendance this week was 95.83%. Well done to Willow Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 98.1%.

  • Hall Floor Developments

    As previously shared, our hall floor was recently damaged due to flooding. Children and staff have shown resilience in adapting to new routines as we haven’t had full use of the hall. This will continue over the coming weeks. On Monday, the hall floor will be removed ready for the next stage of restoration.

  • Herts Catering Limited Food Technology lessons with Willow & Rowan

    It’s been fabulous having HCL visit us in school over the past 6 weeks where they created wonderful recipes with our Year 3 children. The children had the opportunity to taste and explore new ingredients whilst also learning through cooking.

  • Layston Grove Visit

    It was great to get out into the community this week and attend Layston Grove Care Home with a small group of Year 4 children, as well as Blue. The children and residents shared family photos and spoke about their families and loved ones. Thank you to Layston Grove for having us and well done to the children that attended for being great representatives of Millfield! This was also an opportunity for Blue to develop his therapy dog training skills – we were all very proud of him!

  • Oak Class Assembly

    Well done to Oak Class children who performed their Harvest assembly with enthusiasm this week. It was lovely to welcome parents to this event. Children reminded us all about being kind to each other and generous to people in need.

    Allocated consultations for parents of children with SEND. If you have requested a consultation individual communication has been made. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs Gerring, our SENDCo.

     

    Oak Class Assembly performance to KS1 & KS2 children.

     

    3:20 – 3:40 Book Fair in the School Hall, please enter and exit through the car park entrance.

    Herts Catering Limited Food Technology lessons with Willow & Rowan Classes: All ingredients etc will be provided. Cooking opportunities will be offered to all year groups over the school year.

     

    Layston Grove Visit

    Allocated Year 4 children will be visiting Layston Grove sharing family photos with the residents, the children will be accompanied by staff and our school dog, Blue.

    Attendance: Whole school attendance this week was 97.81 % Well done to Birch Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 100%.

  • Friendship Ladders

    The week has come to an end with our Friendship Ladders event where children have come together and enjoyed working in mixed aged groups to learn all about safe networks. This is known as ‘Protective Behaviours’. Children have talked about trusted adults and how these adults will listen and help them whenever they have a worry/concern and/or a problem. Children also learnt about Childline, as well as actions to help them remember the Childline phone number: 0800 1111.
