• Open Morning for Nursery (2 & 3 year olds) and Reception Prospective Parents

  It was wonderful to welcome prospective parents/carers into Millfield this week for a tour of the school. We still have availability in our open mornings on 10^th October, 11^th November and 28^th November 2024. If you know of any local family or friends considering a school-based Nursery (2- and 3-year-olds) or have a Reception aged child for 2025-26, please direct them to contact our school office on 01763 271717 to book a place.

  

• Social Media Forums

  We are aware there are parent social media forums such as WhatsApp groups for classes at Millfield that have been organised by parents. We appreciate that these can support parents e.g. with communicating reminders that the school has already shared. However, please be mindful that these groups are not organised or run by Millfield. The group should never be used as a platform to air views/grievances regarding members of staff, children or parents/carers. If parents have any school-based questions or concerns, please contact the school via the Class Teacher in the first instance.

  Tuesday	9:00am Nursery (2 & 3 year olds) & Reception Prospective Parent/Carer Open Morning: Here at Millfield we look forward to welcoming prospective parents with children starting school in September 2025 for a tour.

  Thursday	Herts Catering Limited Food Technology lessons with Willow & Rowan Classes: All ingredients etc will be provided. Cooking opportunities will be offered to all year groups over the school year.

• Sponsored Olympic Run

  In the Summer Term we took part in a Sponsored Olympic Run. The children were so motivated and ran lap after lap to celebrate the 2024 Olympic Games and to raise money for our school. I’m thrilled to share that an amazing £1419 was raised by Millfield families. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our school community for your kind donations. The sponsorship money will be used to help us enhance facilities on our school field for children. We’ll keep you posted!

• Nursery Coffee Morning

  Thank you to our new Nursery parents who joined us for our first coffee morning for this academic year. It was lovely for Millfield staff to have the opportunity to chat and get to know our new parents. We look forward to offering further parent events during the school year.  

  

• Herts Catering Limited Food Technology lessons with Willow & Rowan

  It’s been fabulous to welcome HCL back to school to provide Millfield children with the opportunity to prepare a tasty meal. This week’s menu choice was ‘fajitas’ which the children thoroughly enjoyed. The children had the opportunity to taste and explore new ingredients whilst also learning through cooking.

• Extra-Curricular Clubs:

  There are still spaces available on the extra-curricular clubs. If you would like your child to attend, please book via Arbor. Registration closes on Sunday 15^th September.
