Fri 07 Jun 2024Statutory Phonics Screening Check: As previously shared, Year 1 children will be completing the statutory Phonics Screening Check this week. Monday
Year 4 Residential Trip 10th – 12th June: Year 4 trip to Hautbois Activity Centre. For Year 4 parents/carers, please see all information shared.

Year 3 and Year 4 Rounders Festival at Freman College: The children will spend the afternoon participating in a rounder’s tournament. Please ensure your child comes to school in their PE kits. Please see the letter sent out for more information.
Friday
Year 4 PE Afternoon: Please send Year 4 children into school wearing PE kits as they will be participating in PE lessons this afternoon.
Attendance: Whole school attendance this week was 93.3%. Well done to Birch Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 97.7% – well done!

It was a pleasure to take Year 3 children to Buntingford Library this week. The children learnt about how the library works, which provided an insight to the various sections/genres of books within the library. The Librarians read books to the children based on the current class topic of Rivers. Children were very much engaged and enjoyed the visit.

Fri 07 Jun 2024Bedford Boat Trip
Year 3 children thoroughly enjoyed themselves today at the embankment in Bedford. The children had a fantastic boat trip on the River Ouse. This was followed by a walk and time spent at the play area within the Priory Country Park, where they also enjoyed a picnic. The children were brilliant representatives of Millfield. Well done Year 3 children!

Thu 23 May 2024National Statutory Multiplication Tables Check: Year 4 Millfield children will be taking part in the statutory Multiplication Tables Check this week. Monday
Welcome back to the start of the second summer half term!
KS1 & KS2 Assembly: The Science & Humanities Faculty will be leading an assembly on commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landings.
We look forward to welcoming work experience students from Freman College today where they will gain insight into the teaching profession.

Year 3 Library Visits: The year 3 classes will be visiting Buntingford Library where they will have a tour, story and activity relevant to the topic they are focusing on in class. Millfield staff will walk children to and from the library.
EYFS Induction for the parents/carers of children who are starting in Reception at Millfield in September 2024.

Class Photographs: All children will have their class photo taken today. Please ensure children are wearing their full school uniform.
Children in Year 1 and Year 2 will still have PE on this day; please ensure your child is wearing their school uniform to school and that they bring their PE kit in a named bag.
