  • COVID-19

    Thu 02 Dec 2021

Thank you for your support and understanding during this period of increased preventative measures at Millfield. Hertfordshire County Council stated today that the preventative measures in place at Millfield are currently helping to reduce the transmission rates of COVID-19 within school.

    How can Millfield parents/carers help?

    • Read communications from school.
    • Share information regarding lateral flow/PCR tests and results with school as soon as possible.
    • Follow Government guidelines regarding testing and self-isolation.
    • Even though you are outside, wear a face covering whilst on the school site as it is difficult to keep a distance between adults during busy times.
    • Do not enter the school building; this includes the school office. Please phone or email instead.
    • Ensure you arrive and collect your child promptly. On arrival, the school gate closes by 9:00am. As you cannot access the school office, if you arrive after this time, you will have to wait for an available member of staff to collect your child.

  • Message from Millfield PTA

    Thu 02 Dec 2021

I just wanted to share with you that the PTA raised a fantastic £355 selling 'I love Buntingford' shopping bags during the ‘Lights of Love’ community event on Friday 26th November.

It was a very cold evening, so a special thank you to the pupils who stood in the cold.

If you would like to purchase a bag, we will be selling bags along the high street in a number of shops. We have recently gained new sponsorships with 12 local businesses to enable us to print a new run of bags.

Many thanks for all your support,

    Alex

  • Christmas Activities/Performances

    Fri 26 Nov 2021

Due to the situation we find ourselves in regarding COVID-19, we wanted to clarify school Christmas plans with parents/carers.

    • Nursery and Reception, as planned, will perform group nativity scenes. These will be shared with parents/carers via Tapestry by Tuesday 21st December 2021.
    • The Year 1 children will share Christmas songs via the school website on their year group page by Tuesday 21st December 2021.
    • Year 2 will perform ‘Everybody Loves a Baby’. This will be filmed on Tuesday 14th December 2021. A letter will be sent out with more information including permissions. A link will follow for you to be able to view this production by Tuesday 21st December 2021.
    • Christmas cards: If your child wishes to write Christmas cards to their school friends this year, they are welcomed to. However, to reduce movement between year groups, please encourage your child to only write cards to children in their year group.
    • The PTA had kindly arranged a Christmas Fair and a pantomime for children to enjoy during the run up to Christmas. We are currently in discussion with the PTA about these events.

    For your information:

    • As planned, Year 3 children will carry out a Spring term performance this academic year.
    • As planned, Year 4 children will carry out a Summer term performance this academic year. This will mark the end of their time at Millfield.
  • Children In Need

    Fri 26 Nov 2021

A big thank you to our school community. Together we have raised a grand total of £365.31 for an amazing charity!

  • Dog Owners

    Fri 26 Nov 2021

If you are a dog owner, as previously shared, please be aware that your dog cannot be left and tied up outside the school grounds. This is for the safety and wellbeing of the number of children and adults accessing this area, as well as the wellbeing of your dog. Thank you for your support.
