It was all yellow!!
It was wonderful to see all the children and staff at Millfield wearing yellow. Children took part in class activities that focused on young people’s mental health and how we can look after our own mental health, as well as our physical health.
Year 4 had a special visit from Rev. Kirsty this week, who shared all about the meaning and importance of Harvest. The key message she left with the children was to have an attitude of gratitude — a wonderful reminder to appreciate what we have and to share with others.
We are so proud of Ash Class for their fantastic Harvest Assembly performance! The children spoke clearly, shared interesting facts about Harvest celebrations from around the world and sang beautifully with real enthusiasm. Well done, Ash Class! It was lovely to welcome parents and carers to this event.
Year 2 have been busy this week creating models of 17th Century houses. As part of their learning about the Great Fire of London, the children explored how the narrow streets and wooden buildings helped the fire spread quickly across the city. Next week, with support from Mr Ridge, the children will carefully set their models alight to observe how easily the fire could travel from house to house!

Our Reception children are looking forward to their upcoming visits to Buntingford Library:
If you are available to support as a parent helper for either of these visits, please email your child’s class teacher. Unfortunately, without enough adult support, we may not be able to go ahead with the visits. Your help would be greatly appreciated to make these lovely learning opportunities possible.
We are so proud of Oak Class for their fantastic Harvest Assembly performance! The children spoke clearly, shared interesting facts about Harvest celebrations from around the world and sang beautifully with real enthusiasm. Their confidence and teamwork really shone through, and it was lovely to see how much they enjoyed sharing their learning with others. Well done, Oak Class! It was lovely to welcome parents and carers to this event.
This week, our KS2 children had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a taster workshop hosted by Buntingford School of Dance. The children explored new dance moves and had a wonderful time expressing themselves. A big thank you to Buntingford School of Dance for inspiring our young dancers! If you’d like more information regarding opportunities with Buntingford School of Dance, check out their website: Buntingford School of Dance
Thank you to our new Nursery and Reception parents who joined us for a coffee morning this week. It was lovely for Millfield staff to have the opportunity to chat and get to know our parents. We look forward to offering further parent events during the school year.
Today we had a fantastic assembly to celebrate the launch of our new Pupil Voice Groups! It was wonderful to see the children showing our school values of Respectful, Determined & Proud, as they cheered on their peers who were selected to be part of the various groups.
These groups provide our children with the opportunities to share their ideas, lead initiatives and make a real difference in our school community. We’re so proud of everyone who put themselves forward and look forward to seeing the amazing work they will do this year!
