    Parent/Carer Workshop

Thank you to all the parents/carers who attended the workshop this week which focused on ‘How to support your Year 1 child with reading and the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check.’

    Friendship Ladders

The week has come to an end with our Friendship Ladders event where children have come together and enjoyed working in mixed aged groupings to learn all about safe networks. This is known as ‘Protective Behaviours’. Children have talked about trusted adults and how these adults will listen and help them whenever they have a worry/concern and/or a problem. Children also learnt about Childline, as well as actions to help them remember the Childline phone number: 0800 1111.

    Pupil Voice Groups:

We value the thoughts and opinions of all our children at Millfield and therefore have a wide range of Pupil Voice Groups within our school that children can join. The children for these groups are selected in a variety of ways. Firstly, children share an interest in the groups they would like to be part of; following this, sometimes children are voted for by their peers, while other times they are selected by their teachers.

Pupil Voice Group children were presented with their badges this week. We are very much looking forward to the work these groups will carryout this academic year. The children who represent their peers in these groups will ensure that the views of the children at Millfield have a clear forum; this helps to shape the direction of the school.
