  • Water Bottles:

    Thank you for sending your child into school with a water bottle everyday, especially during this warm weather. We would like to encourage all children to avoid bringing in metal water bottles. There are plenty of alternative options to use. From September 2022, metal water bottles will not be permitted at Millfield. This is for health and safety reasons.  

  • Sports Event House Winners:

    Well done to all Millfield children for their teamwork and excellent attitude, as well as determination during our recent Summer Sports Events.

     

    Please see the points earnt by Millfield Houses in the picture – over 1500 points for each house – this is an amazing achievement!

     

    These points will be added to the Summer House points; the winning house will receive the termly trophy at the end of the school year.

    It’s been a very busy week at Millfield, from school trips to silk painting, as well as a Superhero dress up day! There’s been lots of fun and laughter during our learning, which I’m sure will continue next week.

    Monday

    Class assemblies: Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee book sharing. Every child from Reception to Year 4 will be given a commemorative book to mark Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee by the Government. We hope the children enjoy sharing these at home.

    Tuesday

    KS2 Silk painting sessions with a visiting artist, Andrew Wynne. On Tuesday morning, all Year 4 children will need to arrive at school via the Community Classroom.

    KS1 Number Detective Day.

     

    KS2 Schoolympics at KJAR for Year 3 and Year 4 children. Please see the letter sent home for further information.

  • Sports Week

    It has been a week full of sporting activities at Millfield. We have all been very proud of how children have participated within the range of sports events this week. Thank you to Millfield families for joining us and cheering the children on come rain or shine! We have one more final event before we can count up all the scores in order to share the Sports Week winning House. Watch this space!

     

    As previously shared, please ensure that photos/videos that include other children are not shared on any social media sites. Thank you for your support and understanding.

  • Year 3 School Trip

    Year 3 children and staff had an amazing day visiting Cambridge. They had fun on the river and enjoyed an exciting treasure hunt on Jesus Green.

  • School Meal Payments:

    If you have a child in Early Explorers (afternoon Nursery), Year 3 and/or Year 4, please view your child’s meal balance on the Arbor Parent Portal App. Payment towards meal balances need to be made by Friday 8th July 2022; this is also completed via the Arbor Parent Portal App.

    • Register for an EnergyKidz account – completing child medical and dietary details.
    • Add your desired location as centre – Millfield first and nursery school.
    • Add your child to the EnergyKidz account before attempting to make a booking.
    • Ensure all the Consent questions, Collector, Emergency Contacts and Doctor details are added.
    • After this click on Book Activity to make a booking.
    • Select the dates you wish to book!

    9:15am KS2 (Year 3 and Year 4) Sports Morning.

     

    Commonwealth Games: Millfield children will learn about the Commonwealth Games during their assembly today. As part of the Sports Partnership, we are working with other schools to represent a range of countries; Millfield has been allocated Australia! Please look out for an email with more information.  

     

    Tuesday

    9:15am Sports Morning for Reception (Cherry Class only) and half of the Nursery cohort.

     

    Wednesday

    9:15am KS1 (Year 1 and Year 2) Sports Morning.

     

    Year 1 Group Reading Café: This is the final Reading Café for a group of Year 1 children. Please see individual letters sent out.
