    ✨Last Week of Spring Extra-Curricular Clubs

    🌷Nursery Spring Walk around Buntingford: Our Nursery children will be going on a spring walk! They will explore nature, spot blooming flowers, listen to birds singing and enjoy the fresh air. It will be a wonderful adventure full of curiosity and joy!

    ⏰9:00–10:00am Mini Millfield: We are looking forward to welcoming families to our next Mini Millfield session for children aged birth to 4 years. Little ones can enjoy messy play, music, stories and a snack – all for just £2 per family. No booking required – just come along. We can’t wait to see you! 😊

    👨‍👩‍👧Nursery Parents Stay and Play: Please see individual times communicated to Nursery parents by the Nursery Team.

    🏅Award Assemblies for children in school to celebrate half termly achievements.

     

    🐣Friendship Ladders: KS1 and KS2 children will create Easter crafts with peers from across the school today.

     

    👨‍👩‍👧Reception Parents Stay and Play: This is a lovely chance for parent/carers to spend time with your child in the Reception setting. Please enter via the field pedestrian gate. Due to limited space, one adult per child please. If a parent cannot attend, another family member is welcome.

    🐣PTA Easter Egg Hunt: Children will enjoy hunting for eggs with their friends and staff. Every child will take home a special treat! It’s always a lovely event and one that the children look forward to each year.

     

    🩺Year 2 Visitor: As part of their ‘Nurturing Nurses’ topic, the Year 2 teaching team have arranged for Nurse Hill to visit Millfield. During her visit, she will show the children some medical equipment and answer their questions.

     

    🎉End of Term Assembly for children in school.

     

    ⏰School finishes at 1:10pm.

     

    ♻️1:10pm PTA Preloved Uniform: After school the PTA will be offering preloved school uniform free of charge. Please feel free to come along and take anything you may find useful.

  • ✨Year 4 Local Walk

    Our Year 4 children and staff enjoyed a brilliant visit to the Co‑Op in Buntingford as part of their Design & Technology project. The classes are learning how recipes can be adapted and the trip gave them a valuable chance to explore a wide range of biscuit products firsthand. During the visit, the children examined different types of biscuits, paying close attention to packaging, ingredients and design features. This real‑life investigation has already helped to inspire their ideas and support their planning back in school.

     

    We would like to say a big thank you to the Co‑Op team for warmly welcoming Millfield’s Year 4 children and supporting their learning so enthusiastically.

  • 🎉Red Nose Day Fun!

    What a fantastic day we’ve had! The children looked absolutely brilliant in their Red Nose Day outfits today, from wacky wigs and bright red noses to colourful costumes and creative accessories. There were so many funny looks and lots of laughter around school. It was wonderful to see everyone joining in with such enthusiasm.

  • 🌿Cambridge Botanical Gardens Trip

    Our Year 2 children had a thoroughly enjoyable day at the Cambridge University Botanic Gardens. They explored the rainforest inside the glasshouse and were amazed by one of the largest trees in the UK near the pond area. The children were especially excited to spot and identify wildlife during their visit. They were fantastic representatives of Millfield throughout the trip, well done, Year 2!

  • 🚧Hazard Alley Trip

    Year 4 visited Hazard Alley on Monday to learn more about how to stay safe. They participated in a range of scenarios including how to stay safe near water, online safety and finding safe places to cross roads. The children experienced making urgent phone calls to the emergency services and putting someone into the recovery position. The children very much enjoyed the trip and were great representatives of Millfield. Thank you to the Year 4 teaching team for organising such an important trip for our children to experience real life challenging scenarios.

  • 🌟Year 1 Assemblies

    Well done to Elm Class and Olive Class for their fantastic class assemblies this week. The Olive Class children impressed everyone by sharing their learning about the seven continents, while Elm Class delighted us with their exploration of Spring. It was wonderful to welcome parents to these special events and we were incredibly proud of all the children’s performances, especially their beautiful singing!

  • Year 4 Hazard Alley

    Year 4 arrived at Hazard Alley at around 10:30am and quickly went into their groups. Everyone is excited and ready for a great day of learning ahead! 🚦😊

    Whole school attendance this week was 95.99%. Well done 👏 to Willow Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 98.3% 🏆🎉.

    Year 4 Hazard Alley School Trip: For Year 4 parents and carers, please refer to the email previously sent for full details about our upcoming visit to Hazard Alley.

     

    Additionally, for any children who wish to wear skirts on the day, please ensure they wear shorts underneath. Some of the safety scenarios involve getting up and down from the floor, including practising the recovery position, so shorts will help children take part comfortably and confidently.

  • Family Friday session:

    It was fantastic to welcome so many parents and carers to our Family Friday Science session this week! The session provided a wonderful opportunity to share the children’s learning and progress, as well as for families to enjoy time together in the classroom environment.
