  • 🌈Children’s Mental Health Week

    We have enjoyed recognising and celebrating Children's Mental Health this week at Millfield. Children took part in assemblies and activities throughout the week to explore the importance of helping everyone feel safe, valued and that they truly belong. The children engaged positively in discussions and activities that encouraged kindness, understanding and support for one another, reinforcing Millfield’s commitment to a caring and inclusive school community.

  • 🎨 Me & My Family - Young Artists Company

    The children received their copy of Me and My Family from the Young Artists Company!

     

    Millfield have their own chapter in the book and some of the children's pictures of their families have been published!

     

    We are so proud of them for taking part and we have a copy of the book for school so the children can always be proud of their achievement!

  • πŸ‘‘πŸ€΄ Kings & Queens Day in Year 1! πŸ‘ΈπŸ‘‘

    Year 1 are having a truly royal day celebrating Kings & Queens Day! The children arrived looking magnificent in their crowns, capes and sparkling outfits, ready for a day fit for royalty.

     

    They are taking part in a range of exciting activities, including designing their own crowns, creating royal portraits and learning about famous kings and queens from the past. There is plenty of imaginative role play too, with the classroom transformed into a grand palace!

     

    The children are showing fantastic creativity and enthusiasm, and it is wonderful to see their confidence shine as they embrace the theme. What a memorable day for our brilliant Year 1 royals! πŸ‘βœ¨

    πŸ•΅οΈ‍β™‚οΈβœοΈ The Year 4 children have been busy this morning working hard as journalists as part of their English unit on newspaper reports. They’ve been investigating a mysterious event after a parachute was found caught in a tree on our school grounds!🌳πŸͺ‚

     

    Our reporters have carried out eyewitness interviews with Mr Ridge and Mrs Skinner and have begun drafting their very own newspaper reports πŸ“°.

    πŸ’› 🌈This week is Children’s Mental Health Week and the theme is ‘This Is My Place’. We will be carrying out assemblies and activities throughout the week to explore the importance of helping everyone feel safe, valued and that they truly belong.

    Tuesday

    πŸ’»Safer Internet DayπŸ”’: Safer Internet Day is the UK’s biggest celebration of online safety. Each year, the focus is on a key online issue or theme. The theme for Safer Internet Day 2026 is ‘Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI’. Today, KS1 and KS2 children will take part in an assembly linked to this year’s theme. Computing lessons this week will focus on developing safe and responsible online behaviours 🌐.

     

    πŸ“…3:30 – 7:00pm Parent Consultations: The 10-minute consultation meetings will take place in the hall; please enter through the main entrance by the School Office. Children’s books will be provided by the class teacher for you to look through.

    Wednesday

    πŸ‘‘Year 1 Kings and Queens Day: Year 1 children will be celebrating their learning about kings and queens by enjoying a fun-filled day of activities, experiences and crafts related to monarchs. Children are invited to dress like royalty; however, please ensure they also bring a coat and wear suitable outdoor shoes for playtime.

    Thursday

    🧸10:30 – 11:30 & 2:00 – 3:00 Nursey Stay & Play Sessions: For Nursery parents/carers, please see communication sent on Tapestry from the Nursery team for your allocated time.

    Whole school attendance this week was 94.38%. Well done πŸ‘ to Willow Class who were the class winners for attendance with an amazing 98.3% πŸ†πŸŽ‰.

    If your child has misplaced any items, please remember to check the lost property which can be found in the cabinet outside Year 4. Please note, any items not reclaimed will be emptied and donated at the end of each half term.

  • ✍️Family Friday: Handwriting

    It was fantastic to welcome so many parents and carers to our Family Friday Handwriting session today for children in Years 1, 2, 3 and 4. The session was a wonderful opportunity to share the children’s learning and for families to spend quality time together in the classroom environment.

  • 🌏 Year 2 China Experience Morning

    Year 2 children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the China Experience Morning this week. It provided opportunities for children to explore aspects of Chinese culture through a variety of activities, including sampling Chinese cuisine, creating a Chinese lantern, practicing basic Mandarin calligraphy and writing a New Year good-luck wish. This enriching experience helped develop a broader cultural awareness and bring the classroom learning to life.
