Year 4 Pancake Workshop
Herts Catering Limited (HCL) hosted interactive workshops for our Year 4 children. The children worked hard to pedal stationary bikes equipped with blenders to mix the pancake batter, promoting both sustainability and fun physical activity. The session covered pancake-making techniques, ingredient choices and healthy choices. Children enjoyed their creations, making it an engaging and educational experience for all.
World Book Day
Everyone at Millfield looked amazing dressed up as different characters from books for World Book Day on Thursday. Over the morning, teachers visited different classes where they read their favourite story. Can your child remember any of the stories? Which story was their favourite story? Children also enjoyed sharing books that they had brought from home with their friends.
Over the week, classes have been working on a ‘top secret mission’ to create a window display inspired by a book. We hope you all enjoyed looking at the wonderful displays after school on Thursday. It was great to see the creative and imaginative artwork the children created. It was lovely to see the children taking great pride in showing parents/carers their artwork, as well as guessing what books the classes had based their displays on. Please see the table below to see if your guesses were correct!

Library visits
It was a pleasure to take KS1 and KS2 children to Buntingford Library this week. The children took part in three activities based on World Book Day; the Librarians also read books to the children. Children were very much engaged and enjoyed the visits. Thank you to Buntingford Library for this lovely opportunity.
World Wildlife Day
We recently held a World Wildlife Day Assembly at school, where children had the opportunity to learn more about wildlife from around the world and the importance of looking after our planet.
The assembly included some interesting talks and activities that helped raise awareness of environmental issues and the need for conservation. It was a great chance for the children to think about how they can contribute to protecting wildlife and the natural world.
SEND Coffee Afternoon - A Warm Thank You!
The Inclusion Team thoroughly enjoyed meeting with parents and carers at our recent SEND Coffee Afternoon. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect over a drink and a chat, and we hope it provided a relaxed space for discussions about support for our children.
We would love to see even more of our families at future events like this, as it’s a great way to build strong partnerships and ensure we are working together to support the needs of all our children.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and we look forward to seeing more of you at our next gathering!
